I’m so lucky to have been introduced to archery. Especially during COVID. It has given my family, friends and community something awesome to do outdoors, at home and away and really focused a lot of potentially angry energy into something very, VERY rewarding. As a retired SEAL, I’ve found that I really prefer having something to lean against… a challenge I need to overcome. I’m not happy cruising. Archery has proven to be like an awesome puzzle that I’ve been trying to crack. A brain teaser at every level. I’ve needed to land on the right gear to do the job, get in much better shape (down over 40# since starting) and have really reaped a lot of peace and enjoyment out of it. My story isn’t unique in that regard. Many veterans are finding a lot more out of archery than they bargained for… and an incredibly pro-veteran community on the whole.
